Frequently asked questions
About domain 302 redirect to mobile numbers, DNS setup, billing, and account management. If anything here differs from what is published on the live site or in your portal, the official notices prevail.
I'm new to “domain → phone dial” services. What should I know before starting?
A domain-to-phone service uses a temporary redirect (HTTP 302) so that visiting your domain opens the device dialer. Before you begin, confirm:
- Your domain is active, DNS is configured, and the redirect rule is in place
- The target mobile number is formatted correctly (international numbers supported)
- Your domain is active at your registrar (identity and renewal are managed there)
- Your platform supports 302 redirects to
tel:URIs
How do I configure my domain (CNAME) to redirect to my mobile number?
We do not register or host customer domains. Add DNS at your registrar, then complete binding on this site. Steps:
- Confirm you legally own the domain and it is active at your registrar
- Add a CNAME record pointing to
302tel.comin your registrar's DNS panel - Sign in / Register here, submit the domain and mobile number, and complete verification
- After DNS propagates, visiting the domain should open the dialer
On this site, follow the CNAME tutorial to point your domain to 302tel.com and complete binding here. If SMS verification fails, see the TXT verification guide.
How much does a domain-to-phone redirect service cost?
Costs usually fall into two parts:
- Domain registration: purchased and renewed at your registrar; fees vary by TLD
- Redirect binding on this site: only the trial is free. Self-service customers pay annually via PayPal at a flat USD $17.00/year. There is no free basic tier or higher paid tier.
Trial: trial page. Sign-up, payment, and renewal: Sign in / Register, then your account portal.
What core features are included?
We offer one unified Domain Phone binding service (available during trial or paid year), including:
- Domain CNAME binding and 302 redirect to a mobile number
- Binding status and redirect management
- Multiple domains per account (different numbers per domain)
- Automatic international number formatting
Except for trial, self-service customers must pay the annual fee to continue. There is no “free basic” vs “premium” split.
Which payment methods are supported?
Renewals and paid activation are via PayPal only at USD $17.00/year on the payment page or the renewal page after sign-in. PayPal may offer balance, cards, or other methods on its checkout page.
Can I bind multiple domains to different mobile numbers?
Yes. The platform supports multi-domain management:
- Assign different target numbers per domain
- Batch edit, pause, or enable redirect rules
- View status and traffic across domains in one place
What happens when someone visits my domain on a phone?
In a mobile browser:
- The browser receives an HTTP 302 redirect
- It navigates to a
tel:numberURI - The dialer opens with your target number; the user taps call to connect
Some browsers may ask the user to confirm opening the dialer.
How long until the redirect works after I configure it?
Two phases:
- DNS propagation: usually minutes to a few hours, depending on registrar and local cache
- Redirect rule on our platform: often within 1–5 minutes after you save
Global full propagation rarely exceeds 24 hours.
How do I manage my redirect settings after setup?
In the customer portal you can:
- Update the target mobile number
- Enable or pause redirects per domain
- View your account and service renewal status on this site
Portal entry: Sign in / Register.
What if I forget to renew my domain or service?
Yes, but two kinds of expiry matter:
- Domain expiry: renew at your registrar; if the domain lapses, DNS fails and the redirect stops (we do not manage domain renewals)
- Service expiry on this site: redirect stops if the annual fee is not renewed; renew to restore (no downgrade tier)
We send reminder emails before our service expires when your contact email is on file.
Why did my redirect suddenly stop working?
Common causes:
- Domain expired; DNS no longer resolves
- DNS records changed or removed
- Redirect rule edited or paused by mistake
- Registry lock or suspension
- Browser or carrier blocking
tel:handoff (e.g. in-app browsers)
Check domain and service status in the portal, or contact support.
Will carriers or platforms block domain-to-phone redirects?
Legitimate use is usually fine. Blocks are more likely when:
- The domain is flagged as spam or phishing
- The target number is heavily reported
- In-app browsers (e.g. WeChat) restrict direct dialer jumps
We continuously improve delivery. Some in-app browsers (e.g. WeChat) may not open the dialer directly — that is a platform limitation.
Which countries and number formats are supported?
We support mobile numbers worldwide. Include the correct country calling code (e.g. +86 China, +1 US, +852 Hong Kong); the system normalizes formatting where possible.
If my domain expires, are redirect settings kept?
When the domain expires at your registrar, DNS and redirect stop. If you renew there and restore DNS, binding on this site usually still works. Stored binding config is typically kept for 30 days; if DNS is healthy again within that window, service can resume. After 30 days without recovery, config may be deleted and you may need to bind again.
How do I change the target number quickly?
In the portal under domain management, edit the target number for each domain. Changes typically apply within 1–5 minutes without DNS changes. Multi-domain accounts can batch-update targets.
Does this affect SEO or domain authority?
HTTP 302 is a standard temporary redirect and does not by itself penalize domain reputation. If the hostname has no real web content and only triggers dialing, search engines may not index it meaningfully — do not expect SEO benefit from dial-only use.
